MEDICAL INSURANCE
In these days of little Government and ACC assistance and long waiting lists at public hospitals, we believe it is essential to arrange your own medical insurance.
What is Medical Insurance?
Medical Insurance internationally is designed to cover the cost of
hospitalisation and certain specialist consultations. Most basic
policies provide reimbursement for hospitalisation and operations
and extend to include specialists and test procedures carried out
during the six month period immediately before or after an
operation.
A Specialists and Tests Benefit may be added, which will reimburse
all costs up to specified limits irrespective of whether
hospitalisation occurs. Any excess chosen does not apply to this
benefit.
How Will it Benefit You?
- No public health waiting lists.
- Your choice of specialists, hospital and time to suit your own individual needs.
- You do not need to rely on the public health system.
- You are back at work more quickly and with less stress.
Medical Insurance will pay for your expenses up to a nominated limit, per person/year*. Whilst the level of cover (up to $250,000) may seem excessive today, in 10 years time it will be very realistic. Once you have suffered a re-occurring condition you are no longer insurable at standard premium rates. It is therefore appropriate that you obtain or upgrade to the best product available while you are healthy and able to apply for protection and be issued a non cancellable medical plan.
Excess
As a means of managing your premium costs you can select from a
range of excess options. If you make a claim on your hospital cover,
you are required to pay the amount of your excess and the insurer
will pay the difference.
* Refer to the company’s Policy Document for levels of
cover and benefits.
